Private clients may request to see a Psychologist for help to function better in everyday life.
Private clients fund their own treatment and may get rebates from Medicare or sources. They may need help with relationships, problems of everyday living or traumas and crises. They may experience depression, anxiety, low self-esteem or childhood issues. The time taken to resolve these problems varies. Psychology consultations are normally confidential. There are some exceptions to maintaining confidentiality if a subpoena is issued or the person is intending to harm or injure another person, or to commit suicide.
